The Next Step

A Boutique with a Heart of Love

I have had the privilege of getting to know Gail at
Obee Designs.   She and her daughter Meghan are
two women on a mission.
Their inspiration comes from Gail’s father, who passed away
from the complications of heart disease.

These beautiful ladies had the idea to create jewelry as a tribute
to those we love while donating a portion of the proceeds
to the American Heart Association.

Their Near and Dear Jewelry and T-shirts line was
launched out of love.

Gail and her daughter Meghan, they’re identical and so pretty!
 Taking after her artistic grandfather,
Meghan designed this marvelous winged heart
Charms, lockets and pendants in your choice of
styles and finishes, and chains

Just email a photo of someone
Near and Dear to you for a truly custom piece
wrapped with care and tucked into a special pouch!

You’ll also find sachets, kitchen towels and hair accessories

Please visit the blog and the boutique and meet

We Have a Winner

I asked if you had a love story you’d like to tell,
and I was so happy when so many of you kindly
took the time to share your marvelous stories
 DSC00046 redo

Each one was incredible and so much fun to read!
It was impossible to choose a favorite.
So I used the Random Generator to choose a winner.

So without further ado
The Once Upon a Time Giveaway winner is…

The lovely Rita of  Rita’s Shabby Chic Rose
If you haven’t been over to visit yet you need to go now
and spend some time at her delightful blog.
Her wonderful love story is proof of the power of love!
  Read on and be inspired!
Dearest Mimi,
what an adorable and enticing theme for a post...
*** TrEs RoMAntIQuE *** My Hubby and I were set up by mutual friends when we both were at college. We both come from the same town and went to the same college some 100 km from home. As customary in Italy we dated for several years before getting engaged
and eight years after our first date we finally got married.
Sad note is 2 years after our daughter was born we got legally separated (never divorced though). But luckily enough there is also a bright side to this since our love proved to be very strong and firmly rooted and a few years later we got back together.
We love each other very much and he's helped me out a lot during the roughest and toughest times in life, last of which my mother's illness and death. Not only is he my true love but also my best friend and so am I to him.
It might not be the best love story of all but it's so very precious to me and I'm very thankful that your delightful post gave me the opportunity to count it, once again today, among my blessings and share it with you.
I've enjoyed very much reading all the romantic love stories that have been
shared so far and will come back again for more.
Hugs Rita

What is Romance Anyway?

Today I took the good old Webster’s Dictionary down from the bookshelf,
dusted it off and opened up the musty pages.

I was curious to read the official definition of
romance and I found a variety of fancy words.

Webster says romance is to court or woo, to treat with chivalry
  or make overtures to
Perhaps a bit over the top but sounds good ...

DSC00041 redo
Webster's take on being Romantic - the words were
fanciful, impractical, love affair

DSC00042 redo
Now you must think I walk around with
my head in the clouds,
but I’m actually a firm believer in being practical
(within reason of course)

DSC00043 redo
My favorite Webster’s definition of romance  -
a style of living!

 Now that's more like it.

“We find rest in those we love, and we provide a
resting place for those who love us”

                                          Saint Bernard of Clairvaux

Don't you agree this quote is beautiful and oh so true,

Just a Little Something

Now I know that none of you want anything at all from
your sweetheart this Valentine’s Day.

 Uh Hmmm!!

But just in case you change your mind here’s a few ideas

DSC00880The weather is still wintery
but Dior is ready for Spring with these
fabulous laced peep-toes

DSC00881 I'll pass on the white bag
because I saw what was in the next window

DSC00879 This is the most luscious blue – even better in person

DSC00898 Pink in the heart of Saint-Germain-des-Prés

DSC00889redo  Yes, I know I know.  There has been an
overload of Laduree in blogland

DSC00887 redo But then again maybe not

DSC00888redoNot sure I want to try one of these though...oh why not

DSC00891redoA few candles to set the mood

DSC00902 redo Of course we can’t forget the men…they'd like a gift too.
If your sweetie is a reader,
you're bound to find something here
(please forgive me for saying that I couldn't help myself)

James if you’re reading this, I’m sure you would agree.
If you have not met this gentleman over at
Man of the 50's
you should head over for a visit now.
DSC00884  Look at the wonderful leather covers
DSC00885redo and gilt bindings

Just a few little things to put on your wishlist.

Do you have something special on yours?
