That would be my ultimate day of bliss too...but the antique shops in Brisbane would be quite blah compared to places where you go brocanting!

What divine images and places!

Best wishes dear Mimi for a beautiful weekend,
Natasha.

Take a leisurely walk in an area of quaint shops and boutiques browse and maybe buy something that speaks to me...then stop and sit and have a beverage and people watch!
I pretend I am on vacation while exploring my own city!

Oh precious Mimi,

Free time.....it is so "expensive" and rare, that do you know, I just long for quiet!!!! That is what I do; I sit quietly with a book, or I draw, or go browsing like you, in ANTIQUE STORES!!!! Enjoy every moment, dearest! Bisous on this fine, Sunday afternoon! Anita

There aren't really any shops to browse in here in the little town in Maine where we live now, so when I have a free moment (which isn't often), I do like to be outside with my husband and take a walk.

Thank you so much for your visits!

Wishing you a beautiful Sunday there!

A bientôt!

Betty

PRETTY IN PARIS said...

I love to take in nature when I have free time. I try and create the moment by walking instead of taking public transportation and seeing what's out there. Living in Paris sometimes feels like a vacation when I discover boutiques, quaint little streets and shops or stumble across a beautiful garden or park.
Thanks for sharing your beautiful spots. Always a pleasure to see things through your eyes.

My Queen congrats on your new venture of starting an on-line magazine!!! what a brilliant idea. I definitely missed this post by I am now all caught up on your new idea, as I read the post today! I know it will be a true success and I can contribute my stationery images and any articles of my work, oh and the boutique that carries my stationery can contribute too! La Dona Carmen is a boutique that specializes in event planning and carries luxurious items from Europe! Simply elegant and divine!

Now lets see... I spend my free time watching movies with Mr. La Petite Plume and my fabulous children and reading! I also love to ride around looking at new houses in beautiful towns, and antique shopping! I love to enjoy a nice glass of wine while I read too:) Fabulous post Queen Mimi!!

Royal wishes,
Daisy

Dear Mimi, antique shops are my favorite place to step in and dream. Unfortunately - those in which I can afford to buy do not have what I really want. And vice versa - the ones in which windows I see the gems and jewels of antique worlds are hardly affordable. But at least it is educating the taste and the ideas what to do for the case if I hit the lottery :-))
kind regards, Martina

Beautiful shots of the antique stores! I have yet to venture in many of them (though I live close to a few), but I do love admiring the crammed windows :) There is something very relaxing about rummaging through finds, especially when you know that most items will have a story to tell.

Hope you've been enjoying the wonderful sunny weather! My husband did very well at the marathon, but he's crazy enough to run another one in London this week ;-)

I am so glad that you brought up your concept for the on line magazine again. I was wondering how it was going? I always stop by for a quick visit, to see the beautiful photos, the kind that I can't take, but love to see. How can you not take a photo where you are and not have it be beautiful. I enjoy strolling down the streets if only in my imagination. Thanks for allowing me to do so. By the way, I hope that folks don't get to bored with everything I will be showing for the Bridal Shower. I am having fun.

More than likely I would be doing the exact same thing you were doing, then stopping in for a quiet lunch in a bistro out of the way somewhere, perhaps even a visit to a little country house for tea! (squealing sharply!) And if I am really lucky, it will raining so I can skip through puddles with my newly acquired treasures while I whistle C'est si bon!
Cheers Mimi :-)
