Patisserie Amelie

After doing a post (or two) on macarons
I had so many comments from bloggers who had never had
the pleasure of tasting one of these delicate treats.

Now for the good news!
There’s a new patisserie in town!
And if you’re in the U.S. you have the chance to experience
one of these sweet confections firsthand.

has just launched an online patisserie,
PATISS~1
The Grand Opening will feature her delicious macarons
Patisserie Amelie has been a labour of love,
with lots of hard work to perfect these
colorful bursts of flavors
Lemon, Chocolate, Pistachio, Café, Raspberry, Lavender,
Grand Marnier and Coconut
So, is your mouth watering yet?

You have to stop by her blog just to see the
sweet photos of big brother and sister (the patisserie’s namesake).

to shopping for a new pair of garden wellies.

She also has an online boutique you need to stop by,
as well as a photography site. It is amazing how she finds the time

I promised…but I couldn't resist...

Yes I know I promised several times…no more macarons,
but this The Wall Street Journal  article and video
on March 2nd was just too good to pass.
Mc Do, as the French call McDonalds, has now entered the macaron market.
Quelle?  (What!)

Check out this video

First, it is important to remember
 we’re talking about macarons
which should not to be confused with macaroons!
It took me awhile to realize there is a difference  - ha ha
DSC00054 - Copie
If you’ve never tasted a macaron before
just imagine a colorful cookie/cake confection
with a crunchy outside and a rich, chewy inside.
You can choose from an overwhelming variety of flavors .
Pistache is my favorite at the moment.

What do you think?
Are you a purist, a macron snob?
Or would you give McDos a fair try?
Moi?   I’m not a snob – as long as I
can’t smell the french fries!
