Inkwells

Getting ready for travel clients this week.
This is our second "Made in Paris" - Crafty Getaways!
Part of our Blogger Getaways

We explore the brocantes and special boutiques looking for little treasures.

One of my many weaknesses are antique inkwells.
I keep my eyes open when browsing the shops.

This is my favorite, very Art Nouveau.
I actually use them. I love sending old-fashioned letters.
The scratch of an ink pen is music to my ears.
I use wax seals too...I was born in the wrong century...

Do you have a weakness when it come to antiquing or thrifting?

Put a Little Ooh La La in Your Life!

Then we have a workshop planned to create something unique from our treasures.

I dare not keep inkwells (with ink inside, anyway) because of my two boys, but I love my wax seals!!!

These inkwells are gorgeous! Most of the things I collect are not really "antiques" but I love collecting old silver trays with little feet. They are so versatile and feminine!

Dearest Mimi,

That is funny, the top one I do have in my boutique for sale; a twin copy!
Guess that I too am born too late... as we do have a collection of silver and crystal inkwells and a chest with different Mont Blanc fountain pens and others... But I love it, together with quality cotton stationery like Crane, Pineider or the French Lalo.
Enough said!
Wishing you a great week ahead and love to you,

Mariette

Hello Mimi
I confess to sharing your love of inkwells, however, mine are not filled with ink. So, I do admire you for actually using them and I'm sure anyone receiving a letter from you, penned in ink and sealed with sealing wax, will be thoroughly charmed.

I look forward to following your future posts.

Hi, my sweet friend, you have stopped my heart in its tracks! I love antiques and ink wells are so cool. I sit and look at mine (well all my antiques) and I imagine the story behind them. The fancy men in there old world suits sitting at their desk and writing love letters to women in those beautiful brocade dresses with layers and layers of lace petticoats under them and the hats OMG the hats
I am so with you sister I was so born in the wrong century and the wrong country :)
Have a great week and please keep the pictures coming, I love to look at your pictures you post and let my mind wonder back in time. hugs sassy

Yes I am very weak for antique! And especially for brocantes, to "chiner" it is so special things from old times, they have a history. Nice inkwells!
